West Jordan Senior Center started in 1991 in a small house located next to the Sugar Factory. The seniors of West Jordan out grew the house and moved to an old church. The new center was built in 2000 and is located on the same property as the small house. According to the census, West Jordan City has a population over 108,000, making it the 4thmost populous city in the state and one of the fastest growing cities in Utah.
The West Jordan Senior Center provides opportunities for people over the age of 60 to improve their talents, enrich their minds, give service in the community, develop meaningful friendships, and help maintain physical health through good nutrition and exercise.
The Center offers a wide range of programs. We consider the center a place where participants can be involved in an abundance of classes and special activities. Classes are as diverse as Leatherwork, English as a Second Language and Computers. Our participants do many Humanitarian Projects throughout the year to help the community.
