Sunshine Terrace Foundation

Part of what makes the Sunshine Terrace Foundation unique is the opportunity to have hundreds of volunteers who donate precious time to come visit with our residents and improve their quality of life. Sunshine Terrace Foundation had more than 52,000 volunteer hours of donated service in 2013 and has received many awards for the wonderful volunteer time donated. Come join other volunteers who have won the UALA Hero Award for their love, compassion, commitment and dedication to the senior population!

Volunteers needed in these areas:

Adopt a Grandparent Program

Looking for a service opportunity? Adopt a grandparent is a fun program established to allow community members a volunteer opportunity to mingle on a regular basis with the residents of the Sunshine Terrace Community. Some of the benefits include but are not limited to: a great feeling of satisfaction knowing you are helping form a needed bond with someone from your community, an excellent resume builder, added friendships and so much more!

Assist with an Activity

Every day the Recreation Therapy department provides therapeutic activities for the residents and can almost always use assistance in these! We ask that volunteers come at least 30 minutes prior to any activity to help gather residents. You must be a registered volunteer to assist with activities.

Do a Practicum/Internship with us

Does your major require you to have Practicum or Internship Experience? Come do it with us!

Plan and Implement Your Own Activity

Are you part of a unique club, group or organization? Do you have a talent or hobby you would like to share with our residents? We are always looking for community volunteers who are willing to share their talents and abilities with our wonderful residents.

Hospice Volunteers

As part of the Sunshine Group, Sunshine Hospice is rich with history and has wonderful opportunities to serve. We welcome both administrative and patient care volunteers who offer companionship, advocacy, friendship and help with daily activities to our patients. Sunshine Hospice also offers opportunities for professional volunteerism such as music therapy and massage therapy.
