Meals Assistance

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels is a service provided to those who are 60 years of age or older, unable to leave their home without assistance from someone else, and unable to drive. The Meals on Wheels program is available throughout Washington County and provides a nutritionally balanced meal & beverage (2% milk), following the dietary guidelines of the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U. S. Department of Agriculture. The Hurricane Senior Center serves the area from Hurricane north to Leeds and east to Springdale. Meals are delivered Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10:30am – 1:30pm. On Thursday, two meals can be delivered upon request for a total of five meals per week. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal.

Nutrition Program

The Hurricane Senior Center invites you to come in for a nutritionally balanced lunch served from 11:30am to 12:30pm in the dining room each day the center is open for business (generally Monday-Thursday; closed on county observed holidays). Our lunch is served cafeteria style with a choice of two different entree’s.

There is a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal for those 60 years of age and older and their spouses. For those under 60 years of age, there is a charge of $7.00 per meal. No reservations are required. Stop in at the front desk to check in with one of our fabulous volunteers before entering the dining room.
